It's been pretty quiet the last few days....Bernie and I were scheduled to ride to town yesterday so that I could drive to Anchorage and pay the annual rent on our mining claims.  When I woke up around 4:00a it was POURING rain and it looked like it was socked in for the day.  Since we have until 9/1 to get the paperwork processed, I sent Bernie a text at 6:00a about possibly putting it off until Monday?  

We were supposed to leave at 8:00a and by 7:50a he still had not responded to my message.  I couldn't leave him hanging and I certainly did NOT want to get out in the pouring rain to ride the four-wheeler over there?? In the end, I suited up in raingear and road the four-wheeler over to his place to confirm the change, He hadn't even turned his phone on so it was a good thing I went over!  He was a trooper and all ready to go but I convinced him to wait until Monday.  Why torture ourselves, right?

I decided to hunker down all day and enjoy the rain while hanging out mostly INSIDE.  Took it pretty easy all day.  Did bring in some wood and got some other chores done, nothing major.

Woke up today to a beautiful, sunny day.  It's been starting in the low 50's and warming up to about 60 or so.  You can definitely feel the bite in the air.  Winter's coming...
