Mouse Trapline Tally: 6
(Total to-date for this year!)
I realize it's been a few days...
Starting to get a bit of a routine going in the morning. Usually up around 6:00a or so, feed and walk the dogs, check my trapline throughout the house, then onto the rest of the day.
I've been pretty busy around the cabin, cleaning, organizing, purging... you get the idea. I spent Sunday and Monday over the holiday weekend getting totes up here from storage. Orville and Ernie were moose hunting behind the house all weekend and offered to meet the train and grab totes in between hunting. So each day I drove the trail into town (which is VERY messy right now because of all the rain!), made several trips from storage to the train depot, then drove the trail back. All in all, we ended up moving 60 totes out of storage. I know, that should have emptied at least ONE of the units, right?? Nope, just 1/2 of one. But it helps!
I was pretty sore after all that moving and riding on the four-wheeler so decided to slow it down for a day. Yesterday spent several hours organizing cans in the pantry. If we have an earthquake it's going to be a mess!
The weather has been pretty typical for this time of year. It fluctuates from absolutely beautiful and brisk, to pouring down rain. Just yesterday, I realized the trees surrounding the house are finally starting to yellow. I took these pictures a couple of days ago during one of the rare times it WASN'T raining...
Tomorrow, Bernie and I are driving into town. Mary, the supervisor on the Hurricane train is graciously throwing a party at the Fairview in town for all of us who live remotely. Not sure how late I'll last but will make an effort, nonetheless. Let's just hope the weather holds...
