10.16.22 Sunday (last one, I promise!)

By the middle of last week, we realized that our window to get in and out on the trail was quickly closing.  Friday was the day we decided to go into town to run some errands and get some supplies.  I wish I had had the forethought to take some pictures of the trail but I was too busy hanging onto Kevin, squeezing my eyes shut and singing the "Sanctuary" song!

The water puddles had begun to freeze over and no one is using the trail right now so we had to break through several places with LOTS of ice covering them.  It was unnerving, but we made it.  We got all of the running done and headed back home around 6:30pm.  We are losing about six minutes of daylight per day now and knew that we were pushing the envelope to get home before dark.  Like I've said before, Kevin is your guy when it comes to pushing through and we got home right at dark.

I have to admit, I was more than a little pleased when he admitted how stressful that trail can be and that I wasn't just being a weenie this summer!

We woke up to a beautiful blizzard on Saturday morning..

It's hard to see in the picture, but it was coming down in big, beautiful flakes and was definitely a hint of what's to come..

By the end of the day, it was mostly gone and the sun came out!  Mother nature is a funny thing...what a tease...In the meantime, our water hasn't frozen yet, so chores are still getting done, including laundry!

Stay tuned...
