Hello again!
We've been experiencing some EXTREMELY cold weather....highs in the low digits, sometimes even less than zero. Overnight lows in the -20 marks. Yep, it's miserable, I'm not gonna lie. But what do you do? You tuck in, try to stay warm, and look for cheap entertainment...
We put some birdseed along the windowsill and Charli now has a favorite spot to sit...
Huckleberry (the new pup) is growing like a weed! He's eight weeks old now...
He's very good at entertaining himself...
So far, not TOO destructive....and he's getting better at riding on the snow machine, too!
We did have a little excitement last weekend...our crazy neighbors, Brad & Sarah called and told us to warm up the snow machines...we're headed down to the frozen river to ride!
As you can imagine, I was a little hesitant since I'm still pretty new at this snow machine stuff, but, why not??
I have to admit, it WAS beautiful! We followed a local trap line over the frozen ice chunks...
I was nervous but they were very patient and I didn't dump it! (And neither did Kevin! 😜) I guess that's how you get better is by challenging yourself....I told Brad that the next time he calls us for one of his adventures, I'm going to start asking him which size of brass balls do I need to bring with me?? The small, medium, or large ones? He promised me this was a "small" one adventure....I'm not so sure...
Because it has been so cold, we've stayed in, for the most part. I'm in the process of making some beaver mittens. I'll have pictures of the progress next time. In the meantime, stay wild!
