Spring has sprung!
Mouse trap line: 17
Squirrel challenge: 2 (No, they’re really not big enough to eat. Yes, they are super destructive on wiring, etc. so they have to be eradicated. Challenge accepted!)
Hello again!
Spring has sprung in our neck of the woods! The trees are greening up and the garden seeds we started indoors several weeks ago are itching to get transplanted outside. It’s not 50 degrees overnight yet so they’ll just have to be patient!
In the meantime, other fun things are happening! Kevin hasn’t left to go to work for the season yet so he’s been busy doing projects around the place. He built this awesome hoop house to extend the garden…
Hoop house
We’ve got some plastic coming this week with a garden delivery via the Tundra Truck so we’ll get it all set up. We still can’t get out on the trail to town because of the mud. Maybe another week or two…
Last year Huck went completely through the screen door at the end of the summer. Kevin had to re-screen it this year and added a push door just for him…
He figured it out in less than a minute. Good boy!
One of our granddaughters, Illy, came to visit this past week…
She totally has him wrapped around her little finger!
Oh, to be that young and flexible again…. :)
Another new development…I have a new job! It’s fully remote so I never have to leave the cabin. It’s working for a law firm in the lower 48 that helps veterans to get their disabilities. Have been working it now for three weeks with alot of heavy training and so far so good! I’m sharing this headshot below because there is an interesting story behind it…
I’m part of the Veteran Support Squad and the company puts everyone’s picture on the website. When I started, HR told me to send over 10 selfies. Well, I don’t take selfies so I kept pushing the request off. By Monday of this week, she started pushing back and said she needed them by the end of this week. I had to really scrounge to find a variety of pictures to send her. They were random, various clothing, etc. Apparently, she plugged them into some AI program and this was one of the results. I was shocked! Maybe I should use AI more often… LOL
The kids waiting by the treat door…
Well, I guess that’s all for now. Illy goes home on the train today, Kevin starts work soon, and the garden will get planted eventually. In the meantime, stay wild!
