4.9.23 Sunday

Measurable snow YTD: 131.00" (10.92 feet)

Hello again!

As you can see, we continue to get little bits of snow but the tide has definitely turned and spring is coming!  Today's high was only 22 degrees and that is supposed to be the coldest day this week.  More snow on the way in the next couple of days...

We are keeping busy.  Kevin worked remotely a couple of weeks ago for several days.  That enabled us to put a little money in the bank and continue to improve things around here so we can live a little more comfortably down the road. Can you say updated solar system?

For those of you who may remember me mentioning our neighbor, Bernie, from last summer, he went south for the winter and we've been keeping an eye on his place.  The snow is too deep to even run a snow machine down to his cabin so Kevin and I decided to walk down the railroad tracks to his place and make sure no bears had tried to break in.

It's only .2 miles down the tracks from our place so we took Nova and made a nice evening walk out of it.  All was well and we got some good walking in and some fresh air.  Taking the small moments and making them count! 😎

UPDATE:  Remember when I told you I was "bread challenged" and desperately in need of a killer recipe?  I found it!

I've made it several times over the last few weeks and it's not failed once....TOTALLY Tammy-proof!

It's one of those make it ahead, let it rise, put on the lid, put it in the frig, then pull it out when you want to make a loaf.  I am forever grateful and a huge fan!  So much for those "no fail" recipes that I totally failed.  Anyhow, now we can bake bread at our convenience, which means we don't have to buy it at the store any more, which was the goal.  Score!

Because spring IS here, we started a small group of plants to raise this summer.  Mainly tomatoes, lettuce, and peppers.

I would love to have another green house like we had at the last place, but that probably won't happen this year.  No worries, we'll figure it out!

Kevin will probably be headed out for work again in the next week or so.  Not for the summer, but for a few days.  Come the first of May, he's probably gone for the summer.  At that point, I'll be unsupervised...and that can always have interesting consequences...

Stay tuned!
